THE FARM

Poppy and Donald

Crannich is a small traditional working farm with highland cattle, blackface sheep and horses with lots of interesting resident poultry, Indian game, guinea fowl, and peafowl. We moved to Crannich well over a decade ago after years of waiting for the opportunity to move to a farm on this beautiful island. Our love affair with Mull began years before at a very young age, both having visited the island as children. Our new life and adventure started by renovating the old farmhouse into a cosy family home, along with the stone outbuildings, which were all that existed here initially. We slowly built up the farm business with new sheds and installing a woodchip boiler to heat the farmhouse and traditional outbuildings to play our part in helping the environment. Our other passion is planting trees and landscaping to improve the environment for wildlife, sustainability and to create a sense of well-being. Every year we plant hundreds of trees, completely transforming what was a tree-less farm! The creation of numerous ponds and landscaped areas with meandering walkways has completely transformed the surroundings into what you see here today and is there for you to enjoy during your stay. We hope you love it as much as we do!!
